Women surfing

The following is an insight into Lea’s surfing competition potential with her results during her junior career.

In 2000, at the age of 14, she competed in her first surf contest, the Bretagne Open, finishing second. In 2002, at 16, she claimed first place at the “Finistere Open et Espoir” contest. At 17, in 2003, she secured 2nd and 3rd place at two local surf contests in Guadeloupe in the French West Indies. Since, Lea prefers the peace and quiet of a good surf trip, hence her decision to become a free surfer.

Lea Brassy was born in a small town in the region of Normandy, France on November 7th 1985. Her elder brother introduced her to surfing whilst just a child, loading their boards onto an old wagon, they would cruise along in search of the best spots. Lea discovered the thrills and freedom of surfing and decided that no matter what she did in life, she would surf.
